Job Description

About the job:

• Monday to Friday starting at 7am and finishing no later than 4pm. 
• Occasional overtime in summer and some on-call work. 
• Whangamata location

You’ll be responsible for delivering LPG gas cylinders to homes and businesses all around the region.  You’ll be dealing with customers face-to-face, and at times might need to answer questions or offer them solutions. We’ll make sure you have all the training and support needed, so you are confident in giving accurate information.

As you’ll be handling dangerous goods, you need great attention to detail and a strong commitment to health and safety.

Other duties include:

• Completing vehicle safety checks
• Organising delivery runs
• Loading product onto the truck
• Delivering pre-filled LPG cylinders and taking away the empties

What you need to be successful:

You have a clean Class 2 licence or you hold a Class 1 licence and are willing to undergo training to obtain your Class 2. You must be able to drive a manual transmission. You will also have: :

• Previous experience delivering goods
• Be physically fit, with the ability to lift heavy items when doing deliveries
• Dangerous Goods licence and LPG filling experience (or be willing to undergo training)
• Being flexible and adaptable with a strong focus on customer service
• Able to use handheld computer delivery equipment
• A proactive approach and responsibility towards Health and Safety.
• Satisfactorily pass background checks such as: Criminal & ACC history, medical and Drug & Alcohol screening.
• Be a team player with a can-do attitude and the flexibility to meet the demands of the operation
• Must be a NZ resident or hold a valid NZ work permit  and be residing in the country
