Job Description
Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity
We are seeking an Automation/Process Analyst to work for our Automation team. Your role is critical and tasked with reducing operational costs and de-risking processes through the removal and automation of human-led processes.
You will be utilising your expertise in automation and process change to understand our current state and design for our future processes. You’ll have a flair for seeking out opportunities to improve the way we operate to both improve our customers’ experience and, help us achieve our goal of being New Zealand’s lowest cost Generator.

To achieve this, you’ll have:
- experience with automating key processes
- a solid background in process optimisation and value creation – and it’s in your DNA!
- strong communication, facilitation, and documentation skills
- an inquisitive, curious mind that challenges the status quo and works with a pointed focus to identify and help resolve key problems
- a positive disrupter influence, recognising what’s needed to realise our strategy, driving ideas and initiatives that will deliver value
- strong data skills and analytical capability which you’ll use to further our cause
- tonnes of flexibility and motivation to do whatever is required to achieve your goals
- a good understanding of systems and technology, ideally in automation and optimisation of operations
- the ability to lead and work with an agile methodology to enable speed of execution
- a continuous learning mindset, keeping up-to-date with the latest automation trends and technologies.
Qualifications
You'll bring a range of skills to support our continuous digital transformation journey, such as:
- Knowledge of RPA Tools: Experience with RPA platforms like UiPath, Power Suite, SAP Process Automation, Blue Prism or other relevant tooling.
- Workflow Design: Understanding of workflow design and process mapping.
- Analytical and Critical Thinking: Ability to dissect complex processes, identify inefficiencies, and develop solutions to enhance productivity.
- Process Mapping and Documentation: Expertise in visualising and documenting processes accurately to ensure clear communication and implementation.
- Communication Skills: Strong ability to communicate with stakeholders, gather requirements, and facilitate workshops to capture solutions.
- Problem Solving: Aptitude for working through and resolving problems and issues.
- Project Management: Ability to manage projects, include planning, execution, and monitoring of automation activities.
