Maintenance Assistant – Day Shift

About the role

7:30am to 4:00pm

We have a day shift vacancy for an experienced Maintenance Assistant to join our Facilities team.

You will work alongside a dedicated and experienced team to deliver a preventative maintenance schedule to meet daily operational requirements of the FPH campus. Responsibilities will involve assisting experienced Maintenance Technicians in the general repair and maintenance of our four buildings including plumbing, painting, electrical work and carpentry. Additionally, you will be responsible for minor moves and relocations of people, furniture and equipment as well as setting up meeting and training rooms.

Experience and Skills

You will possess the following skills and experience:

• General building or handyman experience
• Carpentry and painting experience
• Ability to lift heavy objects and furniture (up to 25 kilograms)
• Complete understanding of health and safety risks and practices
• Positive attitude
• Be able to work unsupervised and as a member of a team.
• Have a working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of applications; Outlook, Word, Excel and Internet Explorer
• Ability to work well under pressure

About You

You will be customer focused with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Computer proficiency will ensure you are up and running with our internal processes and previous experience in fault-finding will stand you in good stead.

You will be self-motivated and can demonstrate the ability to work both autonomously and in a multi-functional team. Your tasks will include managing the documentation of jobs on a daily basis therefore strong attention to detail is required.
