Stores & Browse Assistant (Permanent)

This role requires you to look after the vegetation for the animals’ nutritional needs
ALL training can be provided, including paying for the forklift and other licenses.
The Stores and Browse Assistants are responsible for the health and wellbeing of every animal at the Auckland Zoo, with a real focus on ensuring the animals in our care get the best nutrition possible.
First and foremost, having passion for conservation will set you apart from other applicants!
You will be focusing on:
- Harvesting, storing, and delivering browse
- Growing and maintaining plantations
- Ordering, goods management, and stocktaking processes
- Preparing daily diets
- Maintain Stores and Browse records
- Undertaking the core duties of the Zoo Stores and Browse Coordinators in their absence.
You will work in a diverse team who operate in a creative and dynamic environment.
This is a permanent, full-time position, working 80 hours per fortnight on a rostered basis including weekdays, weekends and public holidays.

This is a hands-on position and to be successful, previous zoo, horticulture, arboriculture, or farming experience would be helpful.
A high level of energy and physical fitness will enable you to meet the daily challenges of the role.
You will also have a passion for delivering excellent quality and standards along with high standards in customer service, strong organisational and time management skills and a can-do, team focused approach.
- A current, clean, manual NZ driver's licence is essential.
- Class 2, 3, 4 heavy transport licence is desirable but not essential

The salary per annum is $57,824.00 for unqualified applicants and up to $62,807.68 for those with experience.
