He angitūtanga: The opportunity

 

Eke Panuku’s Marinas department has a permanent full-time opportunity for a Maintenance Crew Member to join the Maintenance team across Westhaven, Silo and Viaduct marinas. 

 

In this role, your focus is to make sure the marinas are safe and work well for people who use them. You will aim to reinforce Tāmaki Makaurau’s reputation by offering access to world-class facilities for local boat owners and international boating visitors to Auckland, all the while ensuring that customer satisfaction is a key element to be taken into consideration.

 

Day-to-day you could expect to work in maintenance and some training and development:

 

  • Undertake various scheduled maintenance and response maintenance tasks on the marinas and their attendant amenities and facilities
  • Monitor all incoming maintenance requests and ensure all tasks are recorded and completed within a reasonable timeframe and to a high standard
  • Daily rubbish skip, toilet, shower, and laundry inspections
  • Assist external maintenance contractors, and capital works contractors as directed by the Marinas Asset Manager
  • Undertake regular condition inspections and safety checks of Marinas assets
  • Undertake or facilitate maintenance of vessels, plant, tools, equipment, workshops, and yards as directed by the Marinas Asset Manager
  • Monitor activities in the marina, especially vessel maintenance activities, and ensure compliance with the Marina bylaws and terms and conditions informing the Marinas Asset Manager wherever Marina requirements, policy or procedures are not being met
  • You routinely connect with customers, accessing their feedback and applying their insights

He kōrero mōu: About you

 

This role requires experience in similar crew roles, with a sound understanding of customer focus, initiative, and decision-making skills. 

We will be looking for someone with:

 

  • Secondary school education or NCEA level 2. Trade or similar qualification preferred
  • RYA level 2 boat handling or some small boat experience is advantageous 
  • Proven experience in plant maintenance, facility maintenance, or asset maintenance
  • An understanding of health and safety regulations and how to apply this to the marine industry
  • Ability to work with little supervision
