THE OPPORTUNITY: Based in our Auckland Central office, you'll lead the charge in optimising search engine visibility for a diverse range of SME clients and internal projects, helping NZME continue to dominate the media landscape across newspapers, radio, and digital platforms.

HOW YOU’LL DO IT: As Senior SEO Specialist, you’ll:

  • Develop and execute cutting-edge SEO strategies tailored to NZME and SME clients.
  • Implement on-page and off-page optimization, manage website services, and oversee link-building efforts.
  • Ensure technical SEO excellence, optimizing websites for peak performance.
  • Mentor and coach teams to enhance SEO understanding and capability across the organization.
  • Stay at the forefront of industry trends and apply this knowledge to maintain high SEO performance.
  • Deliver commercial growth by leveraging SEO strategies and insights.
  • Use analytics and research data to stay audience-focused, delivering the best content at the right time.

ABOUT YOU: We’re looking for someone with a passion for SEO and an eye for commercial results. To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

  • 3-5 years of SEO experience, ideally in an agency, publishing, or consulting environment.
  • A proven track record of developing and implementing SEO strategies across diverse business types.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with a focus on delivering results.
  • Excellent analytical skills, allowing you to provide clear reporting and actionable insights.
  • A strong grasp of technical SEO and automation tools.
  • Exceptional communication skills, especially when engaging with senior stakeholders and clients.
  • A desire to mentor, coach, and inspire others in SEO.
  • Experience in website development and a relevant qualification is desired, but not essential.
