About the role

Position: Container Repairer

We are looking for a Shipping Container Surveyor to join our dedicated and hard-working team at our busy Savill Drive depot.  If you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, are results driven and eager to learn new skills, then this may be the job for you!

Location: Savill Drive, Otahuhu

Status: Full-time

Hours of work are between 7:00am - 5.00pm Monday to Friday and 7.00am -12.00pm Saturday as required with a guaranteed minimum of 40 hours per week.

Duties

The purpose of this role is to carry out inspections and identify repair requirements on shipping containers.

Some of the tasks involved include:

  • Inspecting damage on containers and quoting for appropriate, cost-effective repairs
  • Submitting accurate repair estimates through our handheld devices
  • Carrying out minor repairs when and where required

About You

Your high attention to detail will ensure all inspections are carried out with the greatest accuracy possible, and your organisational and time management skills will ensure you meet and exceed depot timeframes and targets. We need somebody with a sharp, methodical mind that can generate repair estimates efficiently against the appropriate industry standards.

Some knowledge of computer systems or technology would be useful in operating our handheld IT systems, however the successful applicant will be fully trained in all aspects of surveying and assessing.
