Our Rates, Valuations and Data Management team has an exciting opportunity for a Valuation Contracts Manager to join the team. As the Valuation Contracts Manager you will be the driving force behind our valuation contracts! Your meticulous attention to detail and strategic mindset will empower our business to make informed and lucrative decisions. You’ll be at the heart of decision-making processes, utilizing your analytical skills to shape key financial transactions. Your mahi will ensure all properties in Auckland have accurate rating valuations. This includes managing the contracts, processes and relationships required to acquire, maintain and provide accurate and up-to-date valuation information on properties within the Auckland Region for use in implementing legislation and council policy.

 

 You can expect to work on:

  • Ensuring all valuation queries and objections are responded to, meeting or exceeding accepted service levels
  • Building credible and empowering relationships with third-party supplier to ensure best cost- effective processes are used
  • Creating customised key performance indicators that are Council friendly and ensuring performance service levels are monitored and maintained
  • Enabling continuous improvement initiatives and creating a better understanding of continuous improvement and capability within Auckland Council’s context for example revaluation certification process

You will be a visionary who can anticipate future valuation contract challenges and opportunities. You are a strategic and analytical individual with excellent problem-solving skills. A confident leader who uses sound judgement to provide resolutions and make timely decisions in time sensitive scenarios.

 

You are adaptable and can tailor responses according to audience needs. Demonstrating exceptional communication, networking, and negotiation skills you will build credible and long-lasting partnerships with multiple stakeholders, often with different agendas. You feel comfortable in political environments and can navigate situations with political acumen and sensitivity.

 

We will be looking specifically for experience with:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as finance or commerce
  • Demonstrable contract management experience including leading a team of specialists
  • Understanding of local government sector and rating and valuation legislation
  • Confident user of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Visio, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook)
