We are seeking an Executive Assistant (EA) to support our General Manager People and Culture and General Manager Māori and Government Relations. This position provides confidential and timely support, you must be able to think fast on your feet, be calm under pressure, and be a natural problem solver.

The role

You will work closely to support the General Manager’s and their direct reports whilst also working collaboratively with other EA’s in GNS to deliver on a wide range of organisational priorities.You will be exposed to varied and interesting work, with the opportunity to learn something new each day. Working alongside experienced leaders, you will gain satisfaction from knowing you are contributing to the broader success of the organisation and the important work we do for a cleaner, safer, more prosperous New Zealand.

Responsibilities

With managing and coordinating the diary and workload of two General Manager’s, you will organise meetings and workshops including liaising with your counterparts in other organisations to set these up. You’ll take on projects that require an eye for detail and the co-ordination of a wide range of people. Accuracy is essential along with an eye for detail and an overview of the big picture. You will also support the General Manager’s direct reports as part of the wider group.

About you

You’ll be an experienced PA/EA, who ‘works with a smile’ in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. You’ll be diplomacy personified – able to hold the confidences and confidentiality of the work matters you’ll be exposed to with unquestionable integrity and not an ounce of gossip.

Calm under pressure, you will know how to keep things on track, support the GM’s to deliver on multiple fronts and keep ahead of what’s coming next. You can juggle multiple balls without dropping them and enjoy being in a support role.

You’ll be comfortable liaising with people from throughout the organisation and have a knack for getting things done through and with others.

This is a permanent, part-time (26.6 hours per week) role and is based at our campus in Avalon, Lower Hutt.

The salary range for this position is between $76,680 to $85,200 (for full-time) depending on the successful candidate’s experience.
