Te Tūranga - The Role

We are looking for a talented and experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our team at Tait Communications. This is a hands-on role where you will play a key part in the product design and development lifecycle for complex systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that our products meet high standards of performance, quality, and reliability.

• The duties of the role will include:
• Developing and implementing design specifications.
• Critically examining design solutions to match manufacturing capabilities.
• Investigating and evaluating design processes, tools, and third-party components.
• Mentoring and training other engineers in engineering methodologies.
• Leading design efforts by demonstrating innovation and depth of knowledge.
• Communicating effectively in both written and verbal formats, representing the company in technical forums

Ō pūkenga - About You

To be successful in this role, you will have a relevant tertiary qualification and/or extensive experience in software engineering.

As well as:

• A collaborative mindset, with the ability to contribute to team success while sharing expertise.
• Excellent communication skills, with a strong ability to align with stakeholders and project goals and share knowledge within the team
• Proficiency in integrating multiple systems into cohesive solutions
• Experience with strongly typed languages such as C++ and python.
• Proven experience in product design and development.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to critically assess design solutions.
• A collaborative mindset with the ability to mentor and support other engineers.
• Expertise in design methodology and technology.
• A passion for delivering high-quality solutions and continuously improving the way we work.
