The Faculty of Business & Economics

Housed in the state of the art architecturally designed Sir Owen G Glenn Building, our top-ranked, triple-crown accredited University of Auckland Business School is seeking to recruit established and early career academics to join its world class faculty. It is the largest business school in New Zealand and has an international reputation for academic excellence. The Business School comprises seven academic departments with a strong reputation across the Asia-Pacific region and beyond. Job Description

Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

The Department of Property invites applications for Lecturer/Professional Teaching Fellow in the Department of Property (Real Estate), a leading centre of property education and research in Australasia.

The Department offers a suite of Bachelor, Masters, and PhD programmes with lecturers who provide a holistic perspective on the discipline, enhanced by close links with the property industry. In particular, the Bachelor of Property is highly regarded by industry and accredited by the Valuers Registration Board, the Property Institute of New Zealand, and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

The Department of Property has a vibrant teaching, research, and postgraduate culture. It is known for excellence and innovation in research, learning, and partnership with enterprise. Our strong links with the property industry offer student mentoring experience and collaboration with key players in the property profession.

Academic staff within the department publish in top-ranked international journals across a wide range of areas, including property economics, housing, property finance and investment, disaster management, property management, green buildings, property valuation (appraisal), property technologies, behavioural real estate and property education. Staff value their connection with the industry and are quoted frequently in the media.

Applications are welcomed from those with a PhD in a recognised area of property (real estate) or cognate discipline and should be able to demonstrate the capacity to conduct high-quality teaching and research.

This is a fulltime (40 hours per week), permanent position. 
The remuneration range for this role is from  $94,981 to  $113,463

Qualifications

He kōrero mōu | About you

Applications are welcomed from academics with potential for high-quality research and teaching in property (real estate) with a preference for the potential to teach property development and urban planning. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching in our property (real estate) programs at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

The applicant must have a commitment to scholarly research and is expected, depending on the level of appointment, to develop an active research program leading to publications in internationally recognised academic journals or have an established international research profile. In addition, he or she will be expected to assist in developing the profile of the Department within the profession.

In addition, applications will be welcomed from candidates with appropriate, relevant industry experience in their field of expertise.
