Job Description
Energise your career
If you like the idea of working on projects that make a fundamental difference to the lives of people in your community, then perhaps you should think about a role at Vector.
So much of what we take for granted in our everyday lives is enabled by the work that Vector is doing to ensure our infrastructure is fit for purpose for a rapidly changing future.
Across our network we are transforming the way that Auckland's critical infrastructure is delivered through high-tech data-led solutions and customer first thinking. It's a dynamic, energising place to work because what you do here matters to everyone.
About the role
On offer: the chance to play a key part in the delivery of projects that make an invaluable contribution to Auckland. Put simply, the mahi you’ll be doing keeps the lights on and homes warm across Tāmaki Makaurau.
Working within the Capital Programme Delivery team at Vector, you’ll be part of a team responsible for the delivery of all capital, network, and large customer investment projects on Vector’s regulated electricity networks.
As Senior Project Manager, you'll direct and manage projects through the project lifecycle to meet defined schedule, cost, quality, health and safety, environmental and customer targets. The role will also be the first point of contact for Contractors throughout the life cycle of a project.
This is an exciting opportunity to gain exposure to an incredibly diverse portfolio of projects, helping you build a stimulating career with Vector that offers you plenty of variety. You’ll also enjoy the sort of job satisfaction that comes from knowing your mahi supports the decarbonisation of Auckland!
Who we are looking for
- We’re seeking a highly experienced project manager, with a track record of delivering large, complex projects using project management disciplines, concepts, and principles
- Experience within the energy, utilities or construction industries is highly advantageous
- A project management qualification is preferred, but we’re happy to support your studies towards this if you already have the experience
- Naturally, your communication and relationship-building skills will be key strengths of yours
- You’ll be familiar with the MS Office suite, including MS Project, and confident prioritising a busy workload to meet fixed deadlines.
What we can offer you
Whether it’s the opportunity to do meaningful mahi and build a legacy for Auckland and New Zealand, to work in an innovative and transformative sector, or our commitment to supporting your development, there’s a myriad of reasons to choose a career with Vector.
