Job Description
Ampol’s Delivery team, acts as strategic enabler to our transformation and our operating model, ensuring we responsibly invest in the right priorities to maximise value, consistently deliver impactful outcomes and align Tech, Digital & Data (TDD) to Ampol Group’s strategic goals and outcomes.
The Kaitaki Mana Whakahaere Kōpaki, Ekenga Portfolio Governance & Performance Manager will ensure effective governance & performance across the TDD portfolio by defining and maintaining portfolio ways of working that support visibility, investment decisions, prioritisation, planning and measurable value. It will focus on driving clear accountability for benefits realisation, improve portfolio performance and value, and build stakeholder confidence using disciplined governance, risk management and leadership.
You will have the opportunity to
- Design and manage portfolio practices including governance structures, prioritization and investment frameworks, and supporting processes/tools that enable consistent and effective planning, prioritization and funding decisions, progress tracking, impact assessment and reporting.
- Lead E2E portfolio flow e.g demand intake and shaping, prioritization and planning, investment decisions, and backlog management to ensure dependencies, constraints and value are considered to maximise portfolio performance, delivery efficiency and value.
- Increase portfolio performance – oversea financials, benefits tracking and risk exposure to ensure timely intervention, enable replanning as business contexts evolve, and support scenario based decisions.
- Provide clear actionable insights to all stakeholders to improve visibility of priorities, trade offs and investments, emphasizing accountability for successful delivery.
- Embed mature portfolio ways of working, support effective use of portfolio tools and leverage structured governance forums to continually drive focus on the right work at the right time.
Qualifications
What you’ll bring to Z
- Extensive experience in portfolio governance, demand management, and prioritisation including design and operation of portfolio frameworks, processes and tools that streamline the flow of demand, guide investment decisions, uplift risk management and ensure compliance with enterprise standards.
- Demonstrated success improving portfolio outcomes through structured planning, investment appraisal, benefits tracking, financial management, and interventions based on performance, health and risk data.
- Proven experience integrating diverse ways of working into a unified, consistent, portfolio view, bringing expertise in driving comparability, data-driven decisions, and a clear understanding of value across the portfolio.
- A deep understanding of how to apply constraints (funding, resourcing, time etc) to uplift portfolio outcomes, maximise value, increase throughput/delivery efficiency and reduce waste.
- Strong collaboration, facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills, with an ability to work across all levels to drive transparency, emphasise accountability for benefits realisation and improve portfolio performance.

The base salary range for this role is $149,800 - $176,200 per annum, plus 15% STI based on company performance, a 5% KiwiSaver employer contribution and health insurance through Southern Cross.
