As a Procurement Specialist within our Corporate Procurement & Supply Chain function, you will be responsible for driving impact and value outcomes through good procurement. Our procurement activity is all about delivering positive impact and we achieve this by partnering with our stakeholders to support and lead the execution of procurement activities across the business wherever we can. In this role, you will manage your own a number of external spend categories across the New Zealand business.
This is a fixed-term role for 24 months based in our Corporate Office in Burnside, Christchurch; however, we are open to considering Penrose, Auckland, for the right candidate.
In addition to the above you will:
Identify and evaluate potential suppliers to ensure they meet company requirements.
Understand category-level priorities, ensure these are reflected in the selection and engagement of suppliers within the regions and business areas
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers for long-term partnerships.
Ensure all procurement activities are compliant.
Execute processes for day-to-day contract management.
Ensure you keep abreast of market trends, price fluctuations as well as new products.

We’re looking for someone with:
A member of CIPS or working towards qualification as a full member (ideally but not compulsory)
Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline, desirable but not a prerequisite
Minimum 3 years’ experience in Procurement (experience gained within the Construction industry would be a bonus)
Relevant experience in a company with a mature purchasing function, including experience in the selection of suppliers – inquiry and negotiation
We are looking for a self-starter, someone who is prepared to hunt out new opportunities across the business and work with our stakeholders to turn opportunities into realized value. Stakeholder relationships, good communication & negotiation skills are essential for this role; as is the desire to learn new skills and experiences.
