Mō te tūranga | About the Role 

Support the Events and Catering team at Westpac on Takutai Square as a Chef.

In this role, you will be responsible for preparing a diverse range of dishes, from fine dining experiences to supplying food for our two internal cafes. Your expertise will contribute to creating high-quality meals, tailored to events and specific customer requirements, while maintaining a consistent standard of excellence across the board.
 

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled chef to join our team, creating exceptional food experiences for both corporate events and everyday dining, while working collaboratively with a dedicated team in a dynamic environment.

Based in our Britomart head office, this role is Monday to Friday 6am-2pm, with minimal evening / weekend work required. 

Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring? 

• Proven experience as a chef, with a broad skill set that includes fine dining and large-scale catering for internal cafes and events.

• Strong ability to design and execute menus that meet both creative and budgetary expectations, working collaboratively with the team and stakeholders.

• Expertise in managing dietary and allergen requirements in all food delivery, ensuring the safety and satisfaction of all customers.

• Ability to work independently while also contributing as a valuable team member in a high-paced, dynamic environment.

• Excellent attention to detail in food preparation, presentation, and overall quality.

• Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively.

• Commitment to maintaining food safety standards and a clean, safe kitchen environment at all times.

• First Aid certification desirable

• Team player with one-team mindset

• Strong understanding of NZ compliance in the safe handling and management of food practices and processes
