Mō te tūranga | About the Role
The Technology Release Manager is a member of the Release Management Team, receiving day-to-day direction and workflow from the Senior Technology Release Management, and responsible for facilitating the completion of Release Management activities across Westpac NZ technology delivery.

Execution of, and continual refinement of, the frameworks for Release Management and Transition to Support/Operational Readiness across the technology delivery lifecycle.

Pragmatic and adaptive approach to ensuring Release governance is in place and successfully managing risk associated with technology delivery.

Clear and continuous engagement with stakeholders across all levels of the organisation for awareness of the frameworks and the Release Calendar.



Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring?

• Technology Knowledge: 5-10+ years of experience in technical release train management and/or change management with experience in any form of a Digital, Software, or Infrastructure Engineering role.

• A strong understanding of technical systems, specifically platforms experience.

• Experience managing multiple CI/CD DevOps pipelines is preferred.

• Ability to facilitate and foster the preparation of release and sprint vision, goals and work pipelines and facilitate meetings.

• Able to build and communicate release calendars and iterative planning cycles and synchronize with other release train managers across domains.

• Experience with IT service management tools such as ServiceNow preferred.

Excellent communication skills in communicating technical information to non-technical stakeholders. Ability to write clear and concise documentation and reports.

• Excellent project management skills in planning, organizing, and managing resources. Capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously and meeting tight deadlines.

• Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse data, identify trends, and make informed decisions to improve release management processes.
