We are currently recruiting for a full time permanent Technician role in the Microbiology department at the largest Food Testing Laboratory in Australasia, based in Blockhouse Bay. This opportunity sits within our General Microbiology Processing team. Successful applicants will be responsible for carrying out Microbiological analysis on routine samples to ensure our customer's products meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

Our laboratory is open 7 days a week with rosters between 6am and 10pm. The roster on offer includes at least one weekend day. The successful applicant will be working a minimum of 40 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:

• Complete sample testing within the given turn-around-time (TAT)
• Strictly adhere to all laboratory and regulatory quality assurance procedures
• Ensure all relevant records are kept up to date at all times
• Maintain a clean and tidy work area
• Participate and contribute to working safely
• Be actively involved in all day to day improvement activities

Key Requirements:

We want to hear from motivated individuals who are keen team players with a passion for providing quality customer focus. Ideally you are a:

• Recent graduate, with experience in a commercial laboratory environment or prior experience in Retail or Hospitality
• Passionate about Microbiology as a career
• Have good hand and eye co-ordination
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
• Excellent time management, organisational skills and fluent English communication skills
• Ability to work set shift hours, and flexibility to work overtime at short notice is ideal
