About the role

We have an exciting role, where you’ll join a stable business and enjoy the variety and opportunities of working within a close-knit, supportive team as part of a large organisation.

Reporting to the Christchurch Workshop Manager, this diverse role will see you based in our workshop near Hornby where you will support the team of technicians performing repairs and maintenance on a large fleet of our Forklifts on our customer sites. We have both mechanical battery electric and internal combustion Forklifts with a significant number of different models within the two categories giving you the opportunity to develop and increase your skills.

Your day-to-day tasks will include performing supervised services and maintenance of all materials handling equipment, under the guidance of the Workshop Manager and workshop technicians. You will also be required to collect and deliver machines to our customers. And all whilst ensuring that we provide exceptional service to our customers - the greatest purpose of our teams is to work together with our customers and support them to keep their businesses on the go!

You will be expected to carry out your duties in a tradesman-like and professional manner, with safe practice being key. You’ll have the chance to learn our products, and this will give you the opportunity to progress in the business and the organisation. Crown product knowledge would be a real bonus, but we have heaps of great training materials, if you’re a willing learner!

This is a permanent, full time role in our Christchurch workshop in Wigram, working Mondays to Fridays with the opportunity for some paid overtime.

Requirements

About you

Ideally, we’re looking for candidates with Material Handling Equipment experience or Auto Electrical experience or a trade qualification (or similar overseas qualification). An interest in cars, machines and everything in between will help you to stand out to us though!

To really shine in this role, you'll bring your customer-centric and solutions-focused attitude, as you support our valued customers with service they can trust. You'll work in a collaborative team environment, so being a team player and being prepared to support the team is essential. We’re looking for someone with a good work ethic and a dedication to professionalism. Being IT savvy and an agile learner will stand you in good stead.

There will be manual handling required and so you’ll also need to be physically fit. A full Class 1 NZ drivers license is required for the role and if you’ve got a forklift license that would be a bonus but we can definitely provide training, if you don’t yet.
