Senior Graphic Designer

Wanaka
Full Time

April 01, 2025

At Mons Royale, we believe action and adventure sports can be a force for good. But most of the gear made for these sports is trashing the planet. That’s why we’re on a mission to shift riders from synthetics to natural fibres—designing high-performance merino apparel that doesn’t mess up the places we love to play.

We are a growing brand with big ambitions, and we need an experienced Graphic Designer who can bring the Mons energy to life across digital and beyond.

Work local, design on a global stage - across multiple mediums. Who said small towns = smaller opportunities, here’s the job you’ve been looking for. We need someone who can take brand objectives, distil them into distinct, compelling visuals, and make people stop in their tracks (and then go find one).

You’ll be shaping the Mons Royale world and make all the grand ideas come to life through epic campaigns, digital ads, emails websites—whatever’s needed to make our Merino feel essential (because it is!). You’ll work alongside marketing, e-commerce, and product teams, turning strategy into impact and blank pages into brand-defining moments.

We don’t do boring. Neither do you.

What you’ll be doing

  • Dream up, craft and roll out campaigns across digital, print and retail - building on the brand and seasonal direction.
  • Design thumb-stopping digital assets for paid social, organic content, email marketing, website, and wherever else we can to get the message across.
  • Make the website a thing of beauty—sharp, on-brand, and always a step ahead, a beautiful place for our Mons fan to land.
  • Balance product and storytelling, ensuring commerce and creativity coexist in perfect harmony.
  • Push design boundaries, make bold choices, and stay ahead of trends
  • Collaborate with teams who (mostly) know what they’re doing—but rely on you to make it look good (and make sense.)

Why you’ll love it

  • You’re looking for a role where design actually matters—you’ll have a real say in how Mons Royale looks and feels.
  • You get the balance between brand and business. Making something look great is one thing—making it work is another. You do both.
  • You care about what you create and who you create it for. Sustainability, natural fibres, and an outdoor-driven mindset aren’t just buzzwords to you.

Requirements

What we’re looking for

  • 5+ years experience and a portfolio that speaks louder than your resume.
  • Skills in Adobe Creative Suite and maybe even Figma would be ideal.
  • Know your way around video editing and can bring stories to life.
  • Have an unnatural obsession with type, grids, layouts, and hierarchy.
  • Can make an email campaign feel like a magazine cover.
  • Have big ideas and the guts to push for them.
  • Demonstrate a high level of independence in decision making and excel in time and project management.
  • Get the Mons Royale vibe. Bonus points if you ski, bike, or have at least one Merino layer in your wardrobe.

If this sounds like you, send us your portfolio and a note that doesn’t start with ‘Dear Hiring Manager’.  Let’s make cool sh*t together.

We have selected a closing date for applications of 15 April, but we’re excited to get this role started.  Applicant screening will commence immediately, and applications may close early if the position is filled so do not delay.

You must have a valid NZ work visa.  We are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role.
