Draughtsperson

The Opportunity

We are actively seeking a new Telecommunications Draughtsperson to join our team and will be reporting directly to the Draughting Manager.

To support the Downer business by;

• Applying knowledge of telecommunications networks, records systems and standards to create and maintain drawing records and databases depicting the respective customer’s telecommunications networks.
• Providing appropriate support to field and office staff with respect to the interpretation of telecommunication network records.
• Coordinate with Downer, their customers and other staff as necessary to help develop and refine record systems, standards, processes and documentation.

What we are looking for 

• A knowledge of telecommunications network technologies and practices, including those of our major customers.
• Experience in the use of GIS and CAD software, preferably in a telecommunication or utilities environment
• Skilled in relevant customer software systems and other computer software use / access as required
• Well-developed organisational skills
• Good communication skills with the ability to interact with a wide variety of team members, contractors and customers
• The ability to incorporate innovation into work processes and outputs
• A sound understanding of the financial parameters of the Draughting function
• A positive attitude and commitment to providing a high quality of service
• The ability to work well within a team as well as on sole-charge work
• Able to work under pressure and to deadlines
