The opportunity:
As our Whanganui Branch and Contracting Divisional Manager you will ensure all departments and contracts under your control are carried out in a safe manner. You will forward plan, programme and organize resources (people and plant) to ensure maximum utilization and best returns.

In addition to the above you will:

• Identify and communicate potential and existing problems to the Regional Manager, client and other stakeholders along with presenting workable solutions 

• Form and maintain effective working relationships with major suppliers, community, agencies, customers and external consultants.

• Tender and negotiate for work and investigate new opportunities in association with the Regional team.

• Ensure Department Strategic and Annual Business Plans are developed in accordance with the Strategic and Business Plans of the Group. These plans include goals and projections covering financial, marketing, growth, resource development, health and safety, environment, and staff development.  

• Set targets in conjunction with the Department Managers and ensure adequate information and resources are available to meet these targets.

• Lead and champion Fulton Hogan best practices, work procedures, health and safety, environment and quality procedures, customer relationship management on all projects

To be successful in this role, you will: 

• A BE or NZCE qualification or equivalent industry experience

• 3 – 5 years contracting and practical experience

• Financial management including budgeting, cost-benefit analysis and reconciliation
