Ampol’s Data, Analytics, and AI team harness our date to act faster, make better decisions, serve customers better. and drive growth through improved operations and innovation.
This role enables us to effectively monitor and measure the performance of the business against our privacy and risk requirements as they pertain to data. This includes legislative changes and risk appetite adherence.
The digital team create and deliver the digital experience of the Ampol Group's brands to power better journeys for our customers. We unify customer experience across physical and digital channels, build and deliver products where technology meets our customers – web, retail, and app.
The Head of App & Web Engineering is responsible for managing the inhouse software development, integration and testing teams responsible for Ampol Group's mobile apps and websites. The team is currently a mixture of employees and contractors, with outsourced partner arrangements in New Zealand.
You will have the opportunity to
- You will lead the software engineering team providing analysis, support, development, and continuous improvement for Ampol Group's mobile apps and websites. You will work with other key roles to ensure our technologies are fit for-purpose, customer-focused, secure, resilient, and scalable. You will be able to create and deliver a vision that balances inhouse and outsourced providers.
- Alongside your leadership team, lead discovery and work to close the gap between current and future state, breaking down and communicating complexity into manageable deliverables.
- Data-Driven Development: In partnership with the Product team, champion a lead approach to development and overall technical strategy
- Lead execution of the digital road map, establishing and managing business processes, programs, and projects, resource allocation, key performance indicators (KPls), and governance activities.
Qualifications
What you’ll bring to Z
- Significant experience managing large Software Engineering teams
- A proactive approach to mentoring and development, with a focus on building high performing teams and growing leaders within your immediate org.
- A strong focus on customer experience, ensuring customer experience is front of mind in everything we do
- Experience in capability planning and resourcing, across concurrent product/project streams and skillsets
- Experienced in balancing data driven decision making with delivery/engineering team velocity
- Experience working at a high level to lead and oversee business units, driving strategic initiatives, and achieving organizational objectives.
- Deep stakeholder management experience across technical and non-technical teams within the business

The base salary range for this role is $191,300 - $225,050 per annum, plus 20% STI based on company performance, a 5% KiwiSaver employer contribution and health insurance through Southern Cross.
