Job Description
About the Role:
Reporting to the National Credit Manager, as Senior Credit Controller your role is pivotal in overseeing and maintaining our credit control processes. Your main focus will be on ensuring debt collection and reducing the risk of bad debts to enhance the financial well-being of WM NZ. You will be working closely with both internal and external customers, so a customer-focused approach will be a must-have for this role.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Manage a busy portfolio which includes credit assessment, debt collection, implementing recovery strategies, reconciliation and payment allocation of the assigned ledger to ensure monthly collection targets are met.
- Maintain regular communication with customers to address queries around outstanding balances, repayment schedules and resolve payment issues while maintaining a professional and customer-focused approach.
- Run Daily, Weekly and Monthly reports & Conducting credit checks to ensure business is assessed for credit worthiness and potential business risk.
- Liaise with internal teams/branches to ensure queries are raised and resolved in a timely manner and escalating them when necessary
- Provide training, coaching and conducting regular feedback with team members and maintenance of all credit training documents.
- Review and filing of all documents for liquidated and bad debt customers
- Monitor and driving individual and team performance against KPI’s
- General Credit control and ad hoc duties
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will ideally have
- At least 5 years in a credit control role managing large / key customers, various accounting systems, processes & procedures
- A demonstrated ability to Improve collection processes
- Experience managing difficult internal and external relationships
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize a demanding workload
- Advance Microsoft excel skills
- Exposure to ERP systems like JDE preferrable
