About the Role

 

John Holland is looking for an Accounts payable officer to join our NZ team currently working on the new Southern Stations Project in Auckland, New Zealand. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to assert a lasting impact on a key piece of rail infrastructure that will serve Auckland for generations to come.

 

The Role of the Accounts Officer is to process and administer creditor payments the Accounts Payable Ledger for the project through accurate processing, verifying and reconciling of invoices ensuring compliance to John Holland policies and statutory requirement such as those set by the IRD. Ensure a strong customer focus in assisting and responding to internal and external vendor queries.

 

Responsibilities of the role :

 

  •     Review, sort and prepare invoices for processing and payment, including validation that the invoice details are in line IRD requirements
  • ­    Prepare AP batch in JH’s ERP system ready for an export for the Corporate to review and process payment.
  • ­    Reconcile all assigned vendor accounts to statements and resolving disputes in a timely manner
  • ­    Assist with month-end report requirement to support the delivery team.
  • ­    Prepare month-end allocations and accruals
  • ­    Support with compiling backup information for progress claims on monthly basis to ensure correct information are provided to the client.
  •     ­Provide guidance to all staff on accounts payable procedures, ensure that GST requirements are correctly accounted for on all invoices and payment requests
  • ­    Maintain/update supplier details as and when required through submission of vendor master change form, ensuring vendor details remain current
  • ­    Address and respond to internal and external vendor enquiries and follow up any outstanding items with the responsible personnel
  • ­    Ensure records are filed and archived
  • ­    Provide non-payroll related general administrative support as and when required, such as Processing of expenses.
  • ­    Perform all duties in accordance with John Holland policies, processes, systems, reporting and procedures

 

What are we looking for :

 

Qualifications   

  • Higher School Certificate
  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related area

        
Experience 

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in an Accounts Payable role
  • Experience administering the relevant accounting systems utilised by the project 
  • ­Corporate or site-based experience within construction, transport or related industries desirable
  • ­Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Highly developed attention to detail
  • ­Proven time management, planning and organisational skills
