We have a great opportunity for an experienced Quality Engineer to join our Transport Infrastructure team. This role forms part of the Auckland Construction team that supports civil and maintenance works. 

 

Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity 

Our Auckland construction team is seeking a Quality Engineer to oversee effective quality management throughout civil and maintenance projects. In this role, you will work closely with the Auckland construction team to ensure a clear understanding and implementation of quality management processes, ensuring that project deliverables are completed on schedule and in compliance with technical specifications and consent requirements. 
 
Key deliverables in this role include: 

  • Assist and coordinate the implementation of quality management processes, procedures and systems, including supporting the delivery team with Quality Assurance (construction work packs), LOT closures and asset handovers.  
  • Facilitate quality control set up, together with running any necessary training sessions; 
  • Complete regular reviews of quality management processes on the project; and 
  • Provide quarterly updates on the costs and trends associated with NCRs.

You will be someone with demonstrated leadership skills; you’ll have the ability to drive project excellence and foster a continuous improvement philosophy. You will also have: 

  • A tertiary qualification in Engineering coupled with 3-5 years’ experience in a site-based role (as Site Engineer or similar) and/or Quality role. 
  • Exposure to working on major infrastructure projects 
  • Sound knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and industry norms 
  • Knowledge of HS&E legislation and workplace requirements, along with a good understanding of relevant legislation and regulations in the construction and infrastructure industries 
  • The ability to communicate effectively (both verbally and written) with key internal and external stakeholders  
  • Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office and document management software.
