About the Role

The key purpose of the role of Administration Officer is to effectively contribute to the smooth running of the unit by providing routine administrative support and taskings OR active day-to-day administrative coordination across a range of functions to the Medical Assessment Unit in a timely and efficient manner.

Tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Greeting patients and visitors on entry to MAU, confirming/updating details and processing their arrival in real time
  • Processing admissions to, transfers and discharges from the Medical Assessment Unit
  • Providing a documentation link between MAU and the Hospital to Home Service.
  • Processing documentation for short stay admissions, including entering contacts into patient administration system
  • Respond to requests for information (phone, email and in person) from colleagues and patients.
  • Screen calls to the Medical Assessment Unit in order to aid clinical staff in time of high workload.

About you

You must be a team player with strong written and verbal communication skills, who has a high attention to detail. Our ideal candidate needs to be able to prioritise and juggle tasks, within demanding timeframes. You will have at least two years administrative experience ideally within the healthcare sector.

You will be an experienced administrator who works well in a team environment with the ability to foster good interpersonal relationships

Our successful applicant will have:

  • At least 2 years administration experience
  • Customer service experience
  • Excellent computer skills including sound knowledge of Microsoft word, excel and outlook
  • The ability to work well in a team and foster good interpersonal relationships
