About the job
We’re looking for a Saw Operator to join our night shift team at our Vulcan site in Christchurch, specializing in cutting mild steel.
Working hours:
- Monday to Thursday: 2:00 PM – 11:30 PM
- Friday: 2:00 PM – 6:30 PM
Requirements
- Experience operating a programmable saw (advantageous but not essential)
- Full Class 1 driver’s licence (minimum)
- Physically fit – this is a hands-on role
- Comfortable using technology at an intermediate level
- Reliable with strong attention to detail and safety
- Willing to work overtime if required
- Team player – ability to collaborate closely with co-workers
- Health & safety focus – excellent understanding & adherence to procedures
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and improve
- Forklift licence (a plus but not mandatory)
- Familiarity with gantry cranes (beneficial but not essential)
