Your role:  

Visy Logistics are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Operations Trainer to join the team based in Wiri Auckland. Reporting to the Compliance Manager you will be responsible for ensuring that driver and operator safety, training and compliance are at the forefront of Truck Driver and Forklift Operators everyday activities.

What you will do:

Based at our Wiri Logistic, you will be provided with a company vehicle in order for you to travel to our different locations within the Auckland area working Monday – Friday with flexible hours between 5am – 7pm.

 Key responsibilities however not limited to:

  • Organising your own schedule and diary to work around driver and forklift operators shifts in order to facilitate training and assessments
  • Working closely with operations to ensure consistent processes and training methods are set out
  • Responsible for maintaining relevant VL policies, procedures and required documentation regarding Employee training with a view to continuous improvement in both training delivery type and process.
  • Promote and ensure driver/operator compliance with Chain of Responsibility requirements and Visy Logistics policy requirements
  • Ensure up to date instruction & training of employees regarding Safe Work Practices. Conducting
  • new employee and existing employee driving assessment
  • Identifying training gaps and developing a program to re-induct all drivers and operators on a 2 year basis
  • Develop, foster and manage effective relationships with all relevant stakeholders – internal and external
  • Manage conflict resolution and provide constructive advice to driver/operator on their development opportunities

What you will bring to the team:

You are self-motivated, calm, and considerate individual who enjoys a challenge and working in a fast paced environment. You have a passion for safety and lead with safety first. You will have worked in a similar environment before, are detail focused and able to work well with others to achieve outcomes. You have excellent communications skills and are comfortable to communicate effectively with the leadership team as with front line staff on the ground. Having the ability to administer effective assessment to valuate trainees' comprehension and proficiency, while providing constructive feedback and additional guidance where necessary to facilitate skill development and improvement, is a vital part of this role.

You will also hold the following licenses and certification:

  • Endorsement Courses: Driving Instructors (I)
  • Current Heavy Vehicle License- Class 5
  • Current Medical Certificate
  • Current 5Ton Forklift License
  • Current Reach Truck License
  • Experience with Quad Lifter
