About the Role
The position of ENT CNS acknowledges the experience of the nurse in the field of ENT surgery, despite not having completed a formal ENT surgery training programme.
This role will provide inpatient and outpatient ENT service to a high standard throughout the Health New Zealand Southern coverage region with supervision as required from an ENT surgical specialist.
This role will:
- Take a leading role in supporting the consultant surgeons in maintaining the existing services and may take the initiative in developing new services.
- Provide clinically appropriate care to a high professional standard in a way that is consistent with service objectives and contractual commitments, and with statutory and other regulatory obligations.
- Promote and contribute to the development of services which deliver the highest quality of care for individual patients in a cost-effective manner within the limits of available resources

- A current Annual Practicing Certificate
- Meets CME requirements of RACS or in practice
- Strong leadership qualities and ability to work well in a team
- High level of written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to work independently and use initiative
