Job Description
We’re looking for a Machine Operator to join our sub-assembly line, where you’ll help press and expand coil fins and coil hairpins, and bend completed coils to meet engineered designs and specifications before brazing and assembly in the manufacture of air conditioners. This position is for the afternoon shift (3:15pm - 11:15pm).
Your Role: You'll report to the Sub-Assembly Line Foreman and your busy, hands-on tasks will include:
- Determine the size of coils and adjust tooling.
- Select appropriate dies for pressing and expansion tasks.
- Adjust tooling for bending tasks.
- Load programs into the Logic Processor.
- Select jobs from the job sheet.
- Identify and cross-check drawings with fin spacing and fin length.
- Measure the length and fin space of coils.
- Make adjustments to meet specifications.
- Change tooling to suit specific requirements.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, including circuits, headers, and hairpin end plates.
Qualifications
You will have experience and skillsets in the following:
- Experience with machines for pipe work, cutting, and bending
- Ability to understand drawings specifying pipe length and diameter
- Computer literacy for programming machines
- Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and dimensions
- Strong understanding of safe work practices
- Good team player with reliable attendance
