About the role:
This is an exciting time for the Trents team as we transition to a standalone wholesale business. Our expanding distribution and Cash’nCarry teams are focused on delivering excellence to our network of national and regional customers across the city and throughout Otago.
This role is instrumental in the effective day to day running of the branch by ensuring that all customer orders are picked accurately and on time and are ready for early morning delivery fleet loading. We pick/pack orders six days a week – the hours of work for this role are Sunday to Thursday, 3.30pm to midnight; additional hours may be required at peak times.
Responsibilities include:
Supervising and working alongside the team ensuring efficient and accurate processing of orders
Inducting and training new and existing staff
Demonstrating knowledge and management of appropriate Food Safety and Health & Safety requirements
Replenishing stock in line with SOP
Providing and modelling excellent customer service
Site lockup and security during shift operating hours
About you:
- Experience in planning and delegating work for others and/or supervising team members
- Experience of wholesale sales/operations, purchasing or logistics
- Effective time management and work organisation skills
- Working knowledge of operational Health & Safety and Food Safety requirements
- Proven communication and interpersonal skills
- High level accuracy and attention to detail
- A focus on service excellence and the ability to think on your feet to offer solutions
- A good level of physical fitness and the ability to complete regular lifting up to 25 kgs
- Knowledge of WMS and SAP systems would be an advantage
