Mō te tūranga - About the role

 

This exciting opportunity is designed to support ANZ in delivering its climate-related disclosures with accuracy and integrity.

You’ll work closely with the Environment Sustainability Governance (ESG) Disclosures and Reporting Manager to prepare, review, and verify content for Climate-Related Disclosure Reporting. In this pivotal role, you’ll liaise with key stakeholders across the business, ensuring ESG reports are complete and compliant.

 

You will help strengthen ANZ’s climate governance, guiding internal processes and supporting regular analysis of peer and international ESG disclosures.

 

Role Location: Auckland or Wellington

Role Type: Fulltime, Permanent

 

Ka aha tō rā e kite ai? - What will your day look like

 

As our Sustainability Reporting Associate, you’ll play a vital part in supporting the preparation and verification of ANZ’s climate disclosures. You’ll coordinate with the ESG Centre of Excellence, Risk, Finance, and Legal teams, ensuring that the right documentation is in place and everything is aligned with internal policies and procedures. Day-to-day, you’ll help to assess and support ESG reporting, including liaising with external auditors and ensuring all documentation meets regulatory and reporting standards.

 

Your work will have a direct impact on how ANZ’s sustainability metrics and climate targets are communicated, so your organisational and communication skills will shine.

 

Key tasks include:

  • Coordinating Climate Reporting Disclosures
  • Supporting compliance checks for ESG disclosures
  • Managing relationships with internal stakeholders and external auditors
  • Assisting with the retention and documentation of climate-related records
  • Contributing to the integrity and development of key sustainability metrics and targets

This role will suit a professional with strong experience in climate-related or external reporting. You’re a confident communicator who can simplify complex matters and ensure your reports are clear, concise, and compliant. You’ll be highly organised, adaptable, and able to handle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Your relationship-building skills will allow you to work closely with senior management and across departments.

 

Key skills and experience may include:

  • ~5 years professional experience in climate-related reporting, finance or external reporting roles
  • Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills
  • Audit or assurance skills sufficient to review compliance with policies and procedures
  • Great experience in Delivery (Deliver to a plan whist also considering multiple upstream and downstream influences)
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced, customer centric and collaborative team environment
  • Banking and financial sector experience
  • Understanding of national and international reporting and accounting frameworks such as TCFD, ISSB and GHG Protocol
