Mō te tūranga - About the role

As a Quality Engineer in our CSP squad, you’ll play a key role in enabling seamless and high-quality digital experiences by ensuring robust functional and automation testing for feature delivery. This role is responsible for interpreting designs and defining testing approaches that facilitate automated testing and assessment of solution quality.

As a Quality Engineer, your mission is to help design and deliver a modern banking platform and support the suite of services that provide simple and secure ways for our customers to engage with the bank, develop customer experiences that empower our customers and partners to interact seamlessly with ANZ with high levels of trust.


You’ll employ your testing and engineering skills to help reshape how we deliver high-quality customer experiences faster and more efficiently to our customers, and will bring a creative, customer focused mindset to the role.


As a Quality Engineer, you will responsible for;
 

  • Creating and executing functional and automation testing for feature delivery.
  • Working with BAs, developers, POs, and other quality engineers to identify test scenarios and ensure good test coverage for the requirements being delivered.
  • Bringing a customer perspective to test delivery.
  • Leading and managing the squad’s testing deliverables with guidance from test leads/chapter leads and promoting best testing practices.
  • Effective communication and collaboration with onshore and offshore teams.
  • Becoming part of the agile delivery process in one of the squads within ANZ Digital Technology.
  • Eager to learn, experiment with test engineering, and refine processes to best suit the team while aligning with ANZ’s tech strategy.
  • Challenging existing processes and the status quo while driving change in adherence to ANZ ICARE values.
  • Providing guidance and mentorship to other test engineers, helping them tackle current challenges while preparing for future requirements, particularly in API testing.

Ōu Pūkenga? - What will you bring?


To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

 

  • Minimum 5 to 10 years of software testing experience, with at least 3 to 5 years in test automation, specifically API testing.
  • Strong experience in API/microservices testing, with skills in test automation using Rest Assured, Java, or similar technologies.
  • Hands-on experience in automation testing, with preferred expertise in Java or other scripting languages, Rest Assured framework, Postman, Hoppscotch, or similar tools.
  • Experience in creating test automation frameworks using scripting languages, preferably Java or C#.
  • Experience with Jenkins pipelines and CI/CD.
  • Experience with AWS or any other cloud platform.
  • Experience working in an agile environment with a can-do attitude and an innovative mindset.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Open-mindedness to adapt to ever-changing stakeholder expectations, customer needs and market trends.

 

Nice to have’s: 
 

  • Experience working with Kubernetes/OpenShift.
  • DevOps knowledge.
  • Understanding of non-functional testing.
  • Experience with Splunk and Dynatrace.
  • Testing leadership skills.
