The Facilities Technician is responsible for effectively maintaining all facilities and equipment required for the company’s operations.
Location: This position reports to the EHS, Security & Facilities Manager and is part of the Facilities Team located in Tauranga, New Zealand and will be an on-site role.
What you will do:
Maintain all facilities and equipment required for the company’s operations as per SOPs/Work Instruction Documents/Quality Management System/EHS Management System, and ensure they are “ready for use”. The facilities and equipment readiness should enable production to be carried out in a safe, efficient, cost effective and quality-focused manner. Site presentation and general facilities should always be in a “ready to audit” state. Work with outside contractors in support of Facilities Department (projects, repair, and maintenance) as needed.
Understand the production process, work instructions, documentation configuration control, non-conforming & rework documentation requirements and operate within them to ensure that a device conforms to its specification. Maintain and organize facility designs/drawings, contracts, and related documents. Be aware of and comply with Calibration, Preventative Maintenance, Material Identification & Segregation, and Good Documentation Practices, as associated with this job type/position.
Participate in other duties as assigned, which may include EHS Committee, safety initiatives and programs, quality activities, training sessions, employee activity teams, grounds and garden work, cleaning of buildings etc.
Who you are:
Technical degree or equivalent qualification, and minimum 5 years working experience in relevant roles, preferably maintenance experience in an industrial environment
You have experience in controlling and maintaining a maintenance program, Preventative Maintenance (PM) processes, maintenance work and fault finding – electrical, pneumatic and PLC an advantage
Collaborative team player with a proactive, hands-on approach, a positive attitude, and creative problem-solving skills
Computer literate
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
General level of fitness appropriate to the physical demands of a Facilities Technician role. This includes the ability to lift, move or carry equipment up to 20kg
Ability to occasionally perform physical work while fully gowned in a clean room environment
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Quality assurance, cGMP, and ISO regulations
Operating or supporting manufacturing lines
