About the Role

This is a new role to take on responsibility of the property portfolio from the Chief Executive to support our growing business. As General Manager of Property, you will be stepping into a business that has a diverse property portfolio across housing, horticulture and tourist accommodation. You will play a key role in overseeing delivery of current construction projects, ensuring the current portfolio is well managed and financially sustainable; but have an eye to the future around what will fit with the organisation’s aspirations and work as part of the senior leadership team to achieve this.

The role will cover the full spectrum of property functions, including residential and commercial construction projects, property management, leasing, property investment negotiations, and asset management.

 What you’ll do

  • Ensure construction projects and contracts follow industry best practices, are efficient, safe, provide value for money, reduce risks to the business, community, and environment.
  • Develop and implement long-term asset maintenance and management plans for key properties.
  • Lead negotiations for acquisitions, leasing, and investment opportunities.
  • Oversee commercial leasing processes, ensuring agreements suit the business needs.
  • Build and create partnerships with internal teams, iwi, local authorities, crown entities and across the community.
  • Be a proactive and supportive member of the senior leadership team, contributing to strategic decision making and driving initiatives that align to the business outcomes.
