A key role where you will lead a high performing team and operate as the subject matter expert on financial markets.

 

Te tūranga – The role and your impact 

The Manager Portfolio Management plays a key role in managing our balance sheet and what that means for The Reserve Bank - Te Pūtea Matua. You will work closely with and be supported by senior leadership and your managerial cohort within the financial markets directorate. 

 

Of equal importance to providing a high level of financial markets expertise you will support and enable the development of the team as well as providing strategic direction and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

 

Alongside managing the balance sheet, the Portfolio Management team works to implement monetary policy, manage foreign reserves, manages domestic securities investments and domestic banking system liquidity, and transacts in markets on a day-to-day basis.

We’re looking for someone who has proven leadership experience and strong experience in financial markets.

 

If you have: 

  • Proven experience fostering operational excellence and team development
  • An in-depth understanding of financial markets and experience operationalising that knowledge
  • Excellent strategic thinking skills and a future focus
  • The ability to drive an engaging team culture
  • Proven leadership experience within financial markets or central banking
  • A strong communicator with the ability to connect and interact at all levels
  • A robust understanding of the purpose of a central bank in a financial markets context
