Project Accountant - SAP

Te Tūranga - The Role

We are excited to offer an opportunity to join Tain Communications as a Project Accountant - SAP. In this role, you will provide essential support to the project team, ensuring accurate revenue recognition for the project. You will work closely with Regional Financial Controllers to review and post revenue recognition entries, while ensuring that both revenue and cost align with the financial plan. This position reports directly to the VP of Global Finance

The duties of the role will include, however not limited to:

Projects - Support in creating and plan the project structure, including Work packages / Phases and WBS elements according to minimum requirements (time based will need to be broken with revenue recognition / POB in mind).

Support Contracts - Run real time reporting issues and manage as necessary. Errors will need to be investigated individually.

Sales Order - Run Revenue Recognition Report and review postings. Ensure that the revenue recognized, and cost incurred is according to plan / schedule.

Rev Rec Automation - Document steps and approach to automating information required to complete revenue recognition and work with SAP consulting team and NZ SAP partners to design, develop and implement the automated solution.

SAP Project ad hoc support - Be ready to set up new projects and work on providing project reporting inputs to Group Project Controller

Ō pūkenga - About You

To be successful in this role, you will have a Bachelor of Business Majoring in Accounting or Finance or related experience with SAP S4 Hana Public Cloud solution.

As well as:

  • Understanding of SAP and SAP Projects including WBS structures, planning, and revenue
  • The role will involve dealing extensively with figures. The person needs to be able to interpret numbers not just crunch them.
  • Advanced skills in using MS Excel and SAP
  • Understanding of IFRS 15 and revenue recognition methods
  • Good people skills are required - engaging people and getting them to provide appropriate information
