Senior Design Engineer (Team Lead)
Te Tūranga - The Role:
We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Design Engineer to lead the Base Station Platform team, as part of the Infrastructure Engineering group.
In this role, you will lead, coach and guide the Base Station Platform team to ensure the successful development of our next generation platform and its ongoing maintenance. You will be reporting to the Infrastructure Engineering Manager.
The duties of the role will include however not limited to:
- Maintain up-to-date expertise in the field by contributing to technical discussions, writing papers and studies, and delivering presentations as needed.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills through clear written reports and engaging verbal presentations.
- Act as the company's representative in technical forums.
- Ensure all activities are planned and documented to established standards.
- Provide training and mentorship to engineers, guiding them in engineering methodologies.
- Lead design efforts by showcasing innovation and deep expertise across a wide range of engineering tasks.
- Support team growth by assisting other engineers, helping them refine existing skills, develop new ones, or accelerate their learning process.
Ō pūkenga - About You
To be successful in this role, you will have a relevant tertiary qualification and/or relevant experience in the discipline.
As well as:
- Be comfortable in leading people, coaching team members and managing performance
- Have 5+ years of experience developing software for embedded platforms
- Be an expert C++ developer
- Have good organisational and communication skills
- Have experience with designing Hardware and Software
- Have good understanding of Signal Processing or FPGA programming
- Be experienced with Agile methodology and backlog management
