He angitūtanga: The opportunity
Step into a dynamic role where your support will be instrumental in shaping Tāmaki Makaurau’s future. As an Agile Coach, you will be instrumental in supporting our kaimahi in adopting new ways of working that change how we deliver value to our customers. You'll coach and mentor teams in Lean and Agile practices, facilitate workshops and retrospectives, and champion Agile principles across the Technology Services Department and into the wider organisation.
What you’ll do:

Guide leaders and teams in implementing Agile methodologies like Scrum or Kanban through workshops, training sessions, and hands-on coaching.

Foster a collaborative and self-organising culture by facilitating effective communication, conflict resolution, and decision-making processes.

Promote a culture of continuous improvement by identifying bottlenecks, suggesting improvements, and helping teams optimise lean agile practices at a system level.

Provide one-on-one and group coaching to Leaders, Architects, Release Train Engineers, Product Managers, Scrum Masters, Product Owners and team members to enhance their Agile skills and understanding.

Align Agile practices with organisational objectives, helping teams deliver value iteratively, increase flow, and respond to changes effectively.

You are organised, proactive, and ready to lead from behind the scenes. You thrive in agile environments and know how to keep teams moving forward.
What you’ll bring:
-
A bachelor’s or master’s degree in, Business, or a related field.

At least 5 years' experience as an agile coach or enterprise agile coach or worked in an equivalent role in a related field.

Certified SAFe Practice Consultant (SPC) or equivalent.

Proven track record of coaching agile teams through establishment or maturity
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex concepts to cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Ideally have experience in design thinking and/or systems thinking
You also embrace tikanga, with the ability to use basic te reo Māori in your communications. We value diverse perspectives.
