This is a 24 hour per week, part time, permanent position.
Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki is a cultural leader in Aotearoa New Zealand. Our purpose is to be a creative catalyst for art and ideas, offering transformational experiences that strengthen and enrich our communities.
As a Learning Specialist, you will have the opportunity to develop cutting-edge learning experiences and programmes aligned with our captivating exhibitions. Drawing on evidence-based best practices, curriculum knowledge, and the specific needs of our visiting groups, you will design programmes that cater to a wide range of learners, from early childhood to tertiary education and specifically for kids and their Whānau..
Whether delivered onsite at the Gallery or through our outreach programme, you will collaborate with our dedicated Learning Facilitators and Kaiārahi to ensure that every learner receives a memorable and enriching experience.
Reporting directly to the Senior Manager, Schools and Learning, you will be an essential member of our dynamic Learning team, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams across the Gallery to develop, promote, and facilitate a diverse range of learning programmes and educational resources.
We are looking for a dedicated individual to fill this permanent part-time position of 24 hours per week. We can offer some flexibility on how these hours are spread over the week and this can be discussed at interview. While most of your work will take place during regular hours, occasional evening and weekend commitments will be required to ensure the success of our programmes and events.

To qualify for this role, you should possess a deep understanding of educational practices, a keen eye for innovation, and a passion for creating inclusive learning environments.
- A strong background in curriculum development and knowledge of diverse learning needs will be crucial to your success.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders, both internal and external, are essential.

The salary range for this position is $85,000k – $95,000k per annum, skill set and experience dependant. (Band G)
