Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity
We are seeking a Developer who is an expert in AEM/Web Development to join our dynamic Digital Development team on a permanent basis. This role involves developing software solutions that solve real business problems and deliver value to the organisation.
Accountabilities
- Participate and support application development, implementation, and BAU handover activities.
- Engage in all aspects of the software development lifecycle for ensuring that best practices are applied, and sustainable solutions are achieved.
- Actively attend and support Agile ways of work.
You will be part of a cross-functional delivery team tasked with delivering high-performance solutions and be expected to actively participate and contribute to the team using IT best practices for our colleagues and customers.
This is a full time, 37.5 hours per week, on a permanent contract. The salary range for this role is $85,000 - $105,000 per annum depending on experience and qualifications.

We are the Digital Development Kaitiaki. A group of 25+ developers with the development stewardship of one of New Zealand’s largest IT estates, based in the New Market Campus. Our team members are integrated into Agile teams that are responsible for a specific value stream for the University.

Our ideal candidate will have a degree or qualification in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems. You will need to have demonstrated work experience in a development role with familiarity with most aspects of the software development lifecycle.
You will also have an established personal maturity and align strongly with our values of Generosity, Curiosity and Empowerment.
Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills
Technical experience in development using:
- AEM (Adobe Experience Manager), this is essential
- HTML, CSS and JavaScript Frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue.js)
- Node.js and TypeScript
- REST API and Backend integrations
- Kafka based distributed messaging system
- AWS based development
- Test-driven development
Skillsets:
- Development experience in a broad range of languages, platforms, technologies, and functional domains.
- An ability for acquiring new languages and skills - we are big on professional development!
- Technical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to identify and interpret customer needs
- Basic analytical and solution design skills
- Awareness of development methodologies and processes
- Awareness and experience in working in enterprise-wide applications ecosystems, ranging from infrastructure through to support
Qualifications
Essential:
Qualification or equivalent to a degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or Information Systems
