Parks & Community Facilities (PCF) is committed to making great places Aucklanders love while supporting a number of related services such as asset management and renewals of existing structures and open areas. Committed to a lifecycle approach to asset management, we work to build, maintain and renew community buildings and public spaces including parks, walkways, libraries and playgrounds. As kaitiaki (guardian) of Auckland Council facilities, we play a vital role in promoting the wellbeing of our communities while also delivering strategically significant programmes.
As Programme Manager you’ll be taking on a large and critical programme of work, leading the delivery of the Facilities Maintenance and Open Space contract renewals project (Te Ara Hura – P27).
This project will be responsible for the preparation, documentation, decisions and roll out of the regionwide maintenance contracts from June 2027 with a value of circa $200 million per annum. These contracts deliver a range of essential maintenance services on behalf of multiple businesses across council and the council group.
The project encompasses the full facilities procurement process (multi-year contract terms), the mobilisation of suppliers, and extensive stakeholder relationship management including with elected members.
He kōrero mōu: About you
You’ll be a seasoned programme manager with experience in leading large programmes of work and comfortable working within a complex environment.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management is essential to the success of this role, and political nous with the ability to interact well with multiple stakeholder groups including elected members as part of your skill set will serve you well.
An understanding of full facilities maintenance contracts and contract management would be highly advantageous.
