The opportunity:

We are currently looking for a Mould Maintenance Fitter to join our forming services team at Visy Glass, Penrose, Auckland. This is a permanent position working Monday to Friday 6.30am to 3pm with opportunities for overtime. Reporting to the mould maintenance supervisor your main responsibilities are to carry out repairs and maintenance on all mould and ancillary equipment for quality production outcomes. Deliver all equipment back to Production in a timely fashion and to an acceptable standard to the changing needs of the Glass Industry. You will apply your engineering knowledge and skills to achieve best practice outputs in the production of quality glass containers. Be conversant in all aspects of measuring equipment within the Department, while maintaining awareness and commitment to employment and legislative responsibilities in relation to safety, quality, and the environment.

What you will bring to the team:

As a member of the Mould Maintenance team, you will have a mechanical mindset and the ability to work in a physically demanding and fast paced environment. You will hold either a Mechanical Trade Certificate / equivalent background, as a minimum you will be a Fitter, Machinist that is wanting to ‘step up’ with responsibilities for maintaining Mould and Ancillary Equipment. You’ll be familiar with working in a manufacturing environment (medium or a heavy industrial environment experience will be highly regarded). Have a basic knowledge of clearances and tolerances and able to work with and read engineering drawings. You will be a team player who has good written and communication skills, with a strong focus on Health, Safety and Environmental practices.
