Our Waihi Operation in the North Island of New Zealand is an underground operation. A recent consent to develop the previous Martha mine has provided our project with an extension of life providing our 350 staff and contractors, and the people of Waihi, an assurance that we plan to be here for the long-term.

Job Description

This role is responsible for operating the Batch Plant to ensure shotcrete and concrete is produced to a consistently high quality and delivered to the required locations underground to meet the operational needs of the department.  This role also maintains the Batch Plant to a high standard through housekeeping any monitoring.

• Operate the Batch Plant in accordance with relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
• Ensure regular QAQC testing is conducted to achieve required concrete strength and integrity.
• Monitor stock levels and maintain batch plant materials in accordance with the relevant SOP’s
• Communicate proactively with purchasing and logistics to ensure supplies of concrete aggregates and additives (including fibres) are available to meet business
• Inspect the work area, plant and equipment for hazards, damage and defects; reporting immediately to the Shift Supervisor if they are identified.
• Ensure the batch plant is optimised and available to the production teams to meet business requirements throughout the shift
• Operate Agi trucks and other mining equipment when directed by the Shift Supervisor
• Ensure equipment associated with the batching process is thoroughly cleaned between batches and upon completion of each shift.

Qualifications

• Competent at operating Agi truck, IT and Loader
• Full and Current Driver Licence, ability to drive manual vehicles is essential.                
• Minimum of 12 months experience in underground operations
