The Role

The purpose of the Strategic Partnership Manager is to maintain and develop key relationships between Resolution Life and key licensees, brokers, and advisers across New Zealand to ensure we retain as many policyholders as possible. This role is crucial in rebuilding trust within our adviser market in New Zealand and delivering strong retention outcomes and strategies for advisers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be highly engaged and active in the market, supporting the largest adviser groups across New Zealand with a focus on rebuilding trust and delivering strong retention outcomes.

  • Stay up to date with current market conditions and competitor trends to deliver insights to Resolution Life advice partners and key stakeholders.

  • Ability to develop retention strategies and bespoke solutions to proactively influence retention outcomes

  • Contribute to our broader Partnerships strategy, craft, and execution in support of our Head of Adviser Solutions.

  • Understand drivers of satisfaction and dissatisfaction for advisers and proactively manage expectations and service outcomes to overcome them.

  • Develop a strategic planning craft to establish, maintain, and nurture key relationships with Resolution Life’s business in New Zealand.

  • Be the voice of the Adviser and deliver feedback into the business to drive exemplary product and service standards to the market.

  • Utilise data to respond to adviser sentiment and drive significant uplift in satisfaction scores.

  • Establish partnership collateral and brand requirements, ensuring effective marketing and activation strategies.

  • Foster strong partnerships for our broader partnership resources, such as Advisor Service Managers and Trustee Relationship Managers.

  • Conduct product and training sessions to educate distribution partners about Resolution Life products and services.

  • Be driven and motivated to be active in the market, with local travel required and limited regional travel expected.

What You Bring

  • Proven track record of success in business development, including developing deep partnership and relationship management skills within the New Zealand life insurance industry.

  • Competitor knowledge in retail and group Life Insurance underwriting with an understanding of what product and underwriting benefits drive personalized value for their business and customers.

  • Strong knowledge of life insurance product value chains, distribution channels, and market dynamics.

  • Proactive relationships with industry working groups and associations to drive outside-in thinking.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and feel comfortable in a changing environment.
