Hi there! Thanks for stopping by 👋

Are you actively looking for a new opportunity? Or just checking the market? Well
you might just be in the right place!

We’re looking for a Senior Mobile Engineer (iOS) to join our team in Auckland. Collaborate with our team based in Auckland, as we develop cutting-edge products using the latest native iOS technologies. We build close to the iOS and Android platforms to get the most value from our commitment to native. The mobility team is dedicated to crafting our inventory and reporting mobile solutions: Scanner and Reporter. Their primary focus is leveraging handheld devices to creatively address real-world challenges within physical spaces. This includes using all the key mobile features, camera, location, haptics, notifications. All with a rapid delivery pace!

From a technical standpoint, our team is fully committed to employing top-notch methodologies in mobile engineering. Evolving feature rich apps built entirely on TCA (The Composable Architecture) and SwiftUI. The ideal candidate for this role willingly offers technical guidance and weighs in on technical decisions that impact other teams or the company at large. With a deep technical understanding of iOS or native concepts and techniques, you take the initiative to fix issues before being assigned them, seeking empirical evidence through proof of concepts, tests and external research.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Building stuff. This means coding, code reviews, fixing bugs, pair programming, incident response, and reverse-engineering tasks, etc. Additionally we’re empowered to go beyond just mobile with the ability to hone and make changes in the rest of the product.
  • Planning/architecture. This means estimating, collaborating with Product, proposing technical roadmaps. We have a commitment to taking best in class approaches to mobile engineering. With apps built entirely on TCA (The Composable Architecture) and SwiftUI.
  • Learning and Teaching. We believe in high autonomy for mobile engineers, we want to build things the right way and bring creative ideas to the table by sharing and teaching.

And a little bit of

  • Learning and challenging yourself!
  • Contributing as part of the wider team to achieve organisational objectives even if this means doing things that aren’t strictly within the scope of your role.

What you need to bring:

We're looking for a candidate who has experience with the following:

  • Strong mobile developer with experience primarily on iOS but with supplementary experience working with other platforms.
  • Experience building and distributing apps with large numbers of users.
  • Significant experience in coding complex apps in primarily Swift and Objective-C.
  • A deep understanding of iOS UI, ideally with extensive experience building with SwiftUI or UIKit.
  • Experience or interest in working with TCA (The Composable Architecture).
  • A core understanding of the principles of mobile application design. A keenness to build beautiful, predictable UI and to prioritise the user’s experience.
  • Experience with native app development in Android using Java / Kotlin, React Native is a bonus (but not needed)

We know that people are more than what’s on their CV. If you’re unsure that you have the right profile for the role... hit the ‘Apply’ button and give it a try!
